Kerr Engineering was engaged by the lead contractor for a recent heavy lift in Darwin NT to manufacture the main 600T rated lifting beams.
Scope of work:
- Manufacture of the stressed beam sections in accordance with ISO 3834.2 : 2008
- Machining of end faces to ensure 100% conformal assembly across the faces
- Complete the coating application to the design specification
- Ensure compliance with all applicable AS/NZS, ISO and site specific requirements
- Supply comprehensive MDR’s outlining material specification and testing, weld procedures and welder qualifications, and a coating application report
Outcome:
The beams were manufactured on time and within budget and performed faultlessly during the lift.
