Project Review

Kerr Engineering were engaged by a major drilling operator to adapt a mud tank sourced from overseas to meet their specific requirements for local operations. Due to an immediate operational requirements this work needed to be completed in a compressed time frame.

Scope of work: 

  • Design and installation of the power pack, pumps, and hydraulic system
  • Layout and fabrication of all pipework and control panels
  • Manufacture and installation of the safety controls and isolation points
  • Fabrication and installation of all work platforms, safety rails and access ladders
  • Integration and testing of the systems
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable AS/NZS and ISO standards

Outcome:

The refit was completed on time and to budget with the mud tank going into continual operational use immediately on completion of all work.
